PROJECT GOALS
The primary objectives of Andale Latino Grill On Wheels (Andale On Wheels) revolve around expanding our meal distribution, securing financial sustainability, and strengthening community partnerships. As food insecurity continues to affect children across Philadelphia, we aim to enhance our operational capacity while ensuring the long-term viability of our nonprofit food truck initiative.
Our specific goals include:
- Increase the number of meals served weekly from 45-75 to 100+ per service.
- By expanding food production capabilities, optimizing meal distribution logistics, and strengthening partnerships with Police Athletic League (PAL) centers and other community hubs, we aim to double our impact, ensuring that more children receive access to consistent, nutritious meals.
- Secure a permanent vending location near Temple University for revenue stability.
- Establishing a fixed location in a high-foot-traffic area like Temple University will allow us to generate steady revenue from food sales. This income will be reinvested directly into our nonprofit initiative, reducing reliance on grants and donations while ensuring long-term sustainability.
- Expand partnerships to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
- Strengthening collaborations with local businesses, food suppliers, university organizations, and corporate sponsors will provide additional resources, funding, and logistical support, allowing Andale On Wheels to scale its services efficiently.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Andale On Wheels is a dual-purpose nonprofit food truck that operates at the intersection of social impact and financial sustainability.
Revenue-Generating Model:
đź’° Food Sales at Public Events & College Campuses
- The truck sells authentic Latino cuisine at festivals, street fairs, and university campuses, with a portion of proceeds directly funding free meal programs.
- A permanent vending location will serve as a stable revenue stream, allowing us to increase meal production.
Community Service Model:
🥗 Providing Free, Nutritious Meals to Children in Need
- Meals are distributed at no cost to children at PAL centers, after-school programs, and community shelters.
- By operating a mobile food truck, we eliminate barriers to food access and reach children in food-insecure neighborhoods who may otherwise go without meals.
This social enterprise approach allows Andale On Wheels to fund its mission while delivering critical food services in Philadelphia.

PROJECT SUSTAINABILITY & DISSEMINATION
Sustainability is a core component of Andale On Wheels’ model, ensuring that our impact continues beyond the initial expansion phase.
Revenue-Driven Sustainability:
đź’° Revenue from food sales directly funds free meal programs, ensuring that we are not solely reliant on grants or donations.
Community Engagement & Awareness:
📢 Events, Social Media, and Public Partnerships
- We will increase our visibility through social media campaigns, university partnerships, and community outreach events, raising awareness about food insecurity and our mission.
Grant & Donor Support:
🤝 Ongoing grant applications and fundraising campaigns
- Securing additional funding will allow Andale On Wheels to scale its services and reach more children in need.
By integrating self-sustaining revenue streams, strong community partnerships, and strategic growth initiatives, Andale On Wheels is positioned to become a long-term solution to child hunger in Philadelphia—a model that could potentially be replicated in other cities facing similar food insecurity challenges by national restaurant chains
